Beyond our business, we’re active members of our communities. We’re not just bankers—we’re fellow citizens who contribute to making our area a great place to live.
It’s a part of who we are that we take an active role in making this an even better place to live. At work, we finance new businesses or new homes—but outside of work we like to contribute in a hundred other ways.
We’re proud to be involved in the local Relay for Life, CF Walk to end Cystic Fibrosis, Camp Rock backpack collection, and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lowndes County. We hope you’ll agree that all these programs are worth our time (and maybe yours, too).
Our History
Our founders established a bank based on time-tested methods of sound financial management. The bank they envisioned would serve people like themselves, who enjoy living and working in the unique region of South Georgia.
The first location opened on Ashley Street in Valdosta in 1997. Success for the bank and its customers resulted in healthy growth, and in May 2001 Guardian Bank was granted its own charter by the Department of Banking and Finance. Guardian Bank is now a separately chartered commercial bank in the WB&T Bankshares, Inc. family of banks.
Guardian Bank flourished as it helped people prosper. Over the years, Guardian has added locations and services but remains committed to serving its neighbors where the bank was born.
Today we are fortunate to be advised by a board of local businessmen who take an active role in ensuring the continuity of the sound management principles that gave Guardian its start.
